Its been a heck of a time, these last five months. #GamerGate has exploded into a phenomenon across the world wide web and mainstream media, rising from its humble beginnings as an inquiry into a lame sex scandal and fire-forged in a wave of unthinkable online censorship, it has become a driving force for ethics in games journalism and even media ethics in general. It has uncovered shady mailing lists, punished websites who violate ethical practices, and even assisted the Federal Trade Commission in revising their rules on native advertising.
The purpose of the GGNN is to provide a gamer-controlled outlet for activist news and views from within the ranks of #GamerGate and #NotYourShield. This project is spearheaded by /v/eterans of the campaign who keep themselves up to date on the happenings of our hubs at Gamergate.me, 8chan.co/gamergate/, reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction, and our Twitter, Tumblr, and other social media fronts.
Our goal is to provide a newsfeed that is faster, more reliable, and more useful to you #GamerGate gamers out there than any other, and also to relieve some of the pressure on our allies at GitGud who maintain the old text-based happenings list.
